Biography
Jeffrey B. Teichert founded Teichert Law Office, PC, in 2001. Prior to founding his firm, Mr. Teichert completed course work for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at George Washington University, with emphases in British and early American legal history, environmental law and advanced jurisprudence. (A draft of Mr. Teichert's thesis is complete and submitted to the university for evaluation.)
Before entering his advanced legal studies, Mr. Teichert practiced public lands and natural resources law throughout the west. His work has appeared before a variety of federal and state courts and administrative tribunals, including the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits.
In 2006 Mr. Teichert was a candidate for the Washington Court of Appeals and earned the endorsements of Washington Supreme Court Justice J.M. Johnson, former United States Senator and Washington Attorney General Slade Gorton, County Sheriffs, State Legislators, County Council Members, and a variety of other distinguished citizens and influential organizations. He was rated "well-qualified" to serve on the Court of Appeals by the bi-partisan Constitutional Law PAC.
Mr. Teichert received his juris doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1994. Immediately following graduation from law school, Mr. Teichert served for two years as a judicial law clerk for the Chief Justice of American Samoa. During this experience, Mr. Teichert gained invaluable experience in legal analysis, research, writing, and a unique understanding of the process of judicial decision making. The Teichert family collectively gained an appreciation for the warmth and hospitality of the Samoan people and their colorful Polynesian culture. After returning from Samoa, Mr. Teichert published an article regarding the role of Samoan custom in the law of American Samoa in Gonzaga's International Law Journal.
With a 3.86 grade average, Mr. Teichert should receive his LLM with "highest honors" Mr. Teichert has a particular interest in the English origins of private property rights. His lengthy paper on the subject earned him an A+. Mr. Teichert is the author of a number of additional publications and lectures.
Mr. Teichert and his wife, Juliann are the parents of two sons, Errol and Henry.
